Kama DC is hosting a story telling night in the Fall inviting immigrants to speak on the topic of “relationships” and how migration has impacted their relationships. Stories are casual by nature and are no longer than 10 minutes.

The largest, inter-city basketball tournament is heading to National Harbor Labor Day Weekend! The host organization, Familya DC, expects over 32 of the biggest Filipino basketball programs around the country to compete in a 2-day long basketball tournament. The tournament will be held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Ft. Washington, MD. The NABA tournament fields over 13 age divisions: Mosquito (coed under 9), Tykes (coed under 11), Peewee (boys under 13), Damsels (girls under 14), Bantam (boys under 15), Juniors (boys under 17), Girls (girls under 17) Juveniles (boys under 20), Collegiate (men under 24) (Men's Open, Women's Open, Seniors (men over 35) and Masters (men over 45). Over 5,000 kababayan are expected to converge to the DC area. Familya DC needs your help to support the coaches, parents, and players in making this event a success!!! T-shirts, lanyards, & pizza/food will be provided for all volunteers!
Fil-Am Vote Voter Registration Drive Volunteers
National Federation of Filipino American Associations
4-hour shifts, beginning over the summer
The National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) is looking for organizers for our regional Filipino American Vote (FilAm Vote) program in Northern Virginia. Organizers will receive a formal training on voter registration and be certified to register voters in the state of Virginia. At the beginning and ending of each shift, you will need to pick up and drop off your tabling / voter registration materials.
Philippine Cultural Dancers & Instrumentalists Wanted for Tanghalang Pilipino Troupe

Tanghalang Pilipino ng DC is a community-based cultural arts group established in 1984 to promote Philippine culture and heritage through music and dance performances with the goal of connecting Filipino Americans to their roots while making diverse communities aware and appreciate Philippine culture. TP is looking for new singers, dancers, and instrumentalists to join their troupe. No experience is necessary! Tanghalang members will teach you the songs, instruments (kulintang, angklung, guitar, etc), and dances.
