Application Now Open! Dr. Jose Rizal Youth Awards

The Dr. Jose Rizal Youth Awards are for outstanding elementary, middle, high school, collegiate/graduate students who exhibit intellectual interest, social responsibility and a dedication to their community, which are a handful of the many qualities personified to its highest level by the Philippines’ national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal.

The ceremony is a highlight of the Philippine American community in Washington, D.C. and is given media coverage. Awardees will be recognized by the Philippine Ambassador to the United States at a special ceremony at the Annex of the Philippine Embassy on December 15, 2018 with a certificate of recognition and a medal.

Unlike previous years for the award, there will not be an essay submission for the application. Instead, we will be doing a video contest where you’ll be submitting a video response answering a few questions about the works and life of Dr. Jose Rizal.

The Filipino American community is highly encouraged to submit their nominations by November 29, 2018. Our applicants represent the best and brightest of a broad range of highly competitive Filipino-American students of various age group levels. The competition is very competitive owing to the large number of well-deserving candidates. This speaks well for the long-term success of Filipino-Americans in the United States and is a tribute to their culture, family values and hard work. The PAFC and Sentro Rizal Washington DC (SRWDC) are pleased and proud to recognize them.
